Notices and events from St Philip & St James Church

Dear Friends

Hope you have had a great Easter!

This Sunday (1st May, 10am) we will be celebrating our patron saints St Philip and St James

as we think about following Jesus

and have a special game of Simon says.

If you are around, it would be great to see you!

This Sunday (16th January) at 4pm we will be celebrating our Christingle service as part of our ongoing celebrations of Christmas.

There will be Christingle for each child to make, singing and Rev. Nick will be talking to us about Jesus as the light of the world.  It will be a great service to bring friends along to.

Please book via Eventbrite by Saturday 12noon, so that we know how many Christingle kits to prepare.

The service is planned with families in mind and will last about half an hour.

You may wish to bring a picnic blanket for your family to sit on.

Adults are asked to wear masks.

…………………….Advent Service……………….

This Sunday 05th December, come and celebrate Advent with us and find out how you can prepare to meet Jesus at Christmas by taking part in a very special treasure hunt during the 10am service.  Come and see what treasures you will find to get you heart, soul, mind and body ready for a king.  Are you ready for the challenge?

Nick is also on the look out for helpers during the service, so if you have keen young volunteers, let us know!

Notice from 16th June-Teatime Church on 20th June 2021

Dear friends,

This Sunday we will be celebrating Father’s Day at Teatime Church and it will be lovely to see you all.  There is no need to book and you can just turn up on the day but if you can let us know beforehand it would be helpful in terms of planning.

As our craft activity we will be decorating a photo frame to give to our dads or other caregiver as appropriate.  The photo frames are designed to go around a photo which is 14.5cm x 9cm.  Should you have a photo that you want to bring with you to put in a frame that would be great. Otherwise, you can take it home and choose a photo at your leisure!  I’ve ordered 32 photo frames so hope to be able to have one for each child.

Please bring along a picnic blanket, if that would be helpful as a base for the family- though chairs will be available!  Due to COVID restrictions we will not be having our party tea at the end but do you feel free to bring whatever snacks your youngsters will need along the way. We will aim to be finished by 4:45.
